Rooms
The rooms vary from economical double rooms to the luxurious and a bit on the expensive side Manharani and Maharaja suites. While double are small and suitable for a couple, the bigger one like Rajkumar rooms are a little bigger. The suites are large with carpets and a loving area to boot.
Main Building
Built in 1891 as a Summer Retreat by the Maharaja of Patiala, Maharaja Rajender Singh. The story goes that the Maharaja was in love with the daughter of British Viecroy Lord Kitchner and eloped with her, the Viceroy banned the entry of the Maharaja to Shimla. Maharaja vowed to take revenge by building his own palace and thus Chail Palace came into existence. A lovers’ wrath thus gave way to this beautiful Palace being build and Chail coming into prominence.
